With the "FREIraum" exhibition, the hotel is continuing its tradition of promoting art and culture. Visitors are invited to view the diverse works of the artist group SPUR19 while enjoying the historic atmosphere of the castle.

Hotel Schloss Lautrach would like to inform its valued guests that scaffolding is currently being erected in front of the facade of the building. This is in preparation for the renovation of the elevator and the extension of the elevator shaft.

The erection of the scaffolding tower marks the start of an important step in the modernization of our elevator system. By renewing and extending the elevator shaft, it will be possible in future for the elevator to travel directly from the first floor to the top floor. This not only represents a considerable gain in comfort for our guests, especially for people with limited mobility or a lot of luggage, but also significantly improves the accessibility and user-friendliness of our hotel.

While the scaffolding is in place, access to the castle is only possible via the south side.

Due to the renovation, our passenger elevator will be out of service from 25.03.2024 until probably 31.05.2024. Unfortunately, accessibility is not guaranteed during this period. Should you require further information or assistance, our reception team will be happy to help you with any inquiries.

We would like to reassure our guests that all necessary measures are being taken during these renovations to ensure a smooth process and minimal impact on your stay. Your safety and satisfaction is our top priority.

We thank you for your understanding and look forward to welcoming you soon to the modernized Hotel Schloss Lautrach.

Dominik Schmid and the entire hotel team

Hotel Schloss Lautrach continues its tradition of excellence and proudly announces a significant partnership with Appia, a leading company in hotel construction and interior design.

Today, a delegation from Schloss Lautrach, consisting of the hotel manager, housekeeper, house technician and marketing management, had the honor of visiting the headquarters of Appia Contract GmbH. This marked the start of an exciting renovation project for 17 rooms at the 4-star Hotel Schloss Lautrach.

The visit began with a warm welcome from Appia, followed by a presentation of the renovation project, which included floor plans and renderings of the rooms. In the afternoon, the guests were introduced to the future design of the rooms using the latest VR technology and 3D presentations. The opportunity to experience a virtual tour of the future rooms now was particularly impressive.

During the subsequent selection of materials, the representatives of Schloss Lautrach were able to actively participate in the design process and choose the final materials for the new rooms. From colors to floors and tiles, they were able to contribute their ideas. Finally, they were given an exclusive tour of Appia's production facilities and the opportunity to view finished sample rooms.

"Thanks to Appia, we have a strong partner at our side with decades of experience in hotel construction and interior design and a reputation for creative hotel design," emphasized Dominik Schmid, Hotel Manager of Schloss Lautrach.

Schloss Lautrach opened its doors to a special group of Year 7A pupils from the partner school in Legau. Under the direction of instructor Anna-Maria Fackler, trainee Elena Bärtle and intern Franziska Schmid, an inviting seminar was prepared that welcomed the students with a wealth of colorful surprises and delicious treats.

During a guided tour, the students were given a fascinating insight into the history and the wide range of services offered by the historic castle and today's 4-star hotel. Afterwards, Ms. Bärtle and Ms. Schmid provided information about the managers at Schloss Lautrach as well as the training opportunities at the hotel and the associated vocational school. The students showed great interest and asked numerous questions.

The students gained a small insight into the demanding work in a 4-star hotel through a practical etiquette seminar organized at Schloss Lautrach. This encouraged the young people to rethink etiquette rules for greetings and table behavior. In a vivid presentation, Ms. Bärtle and Ms. Schmid explained the ideal procedure from welcoming the guest to escorting them to the table.

Finally, a practical exercise led to the correct handling of cutlery and glasses, which was also attended by the hotel manager Dominik Schmid. The students had the opportunity to put what they had learned into practice.

The day ended with a summary of the knowledge gained and a group photo. The team at Schloss Lautrach is grateful to be able to pass on its knowledge to interested students and hopes that such measures will attract new trainees who would like to continue the legacy of the castle's excellent training tradition.

Interested applicants for the apprenticeships in 2025 are very welcome.

Hotel Schloss Lautrach continues its digitalization strategy and is pleased to announce the launch of its new digital guest portfolio. As the latest innovation in Schloss Lautrach's digital transformation, the guest folder represents a significant step towards offering its guests a more comfortable and sustainable stay.

The digital guest folder replaces the traditional physical guest folder in the rooms and allows guests to contact Schloss Lautrach at any time and from anywhere. Using the digital guest folder is as simple as can be: guests simply need their own terminal device and scan the QR code, which they receive shortly after booking but can also find in their room. This gives them access to a wealth of information about the hotel, its offerings and the surrounding area. Whether they are in the hotel or outside, the digital guest folder offers, at any time, the information they need and useful functions.

"The digital guest folder offers a variety of functions that enrich our guests' stay. They can use the chat function to communicate directly with our reception desk and clarify their concerns. They can view information on attractions in the region or call up routes to nearby restaurants and gas stations, etc. The guest folder thus becomes an indispensable companion for our guests, providing them with a wealth of useful information directly to their own terminal device," says marketing manager Ms. Laura Kazek.

Hygiene and sustainability are also important aspects of this innovation. "Our guests can now enjoy the usual depth of information in our guest folder without having to pick up physical materials," emphas Mr. Dominik Schmid, the hotel manager. "This not only contributes to hygiene, but is also an ecological contribution by eliminating paper.

" With the introduction of the digital guest folder, Schloss Lautrach strengthens its position as a modern and service-oriented hotel that focuses on the needs and expectations of its guests.

On October 22, 2023 at 2 p.m., Schloss Lautrach will open its doors to art lovers and culture fans for the vernissage of the exhibition "Play - Das Spielende Gelingen" with works by renowned artist Anja Stemmer.

"Play - Das Spielende Gelingen" presents the abstract works of Anja Stemmer, who makes emotions and experiences perceptible with her characteristic visual language and also opens up new perspectives non-verbally with her paintings. More than 25 colorful, dynamic works of art can be admired in the exhibition.

"ATMOLOUNGE" label Richard Zeltner and Stanislaus Galun provide musical accompaniment with their flirtation of chilling saxophone tunes and percussive guitar beats. In a relaxed live performance the duo takes the audience with a lot of charm into their world of the genres soul-funk-jazz-pop and invites to dream and enjoy. The Hotel Schloss Lautrach provides for the physical well-being of the guests.

The exhibition will run from October 22, 2023 to April 12, 2024 and will be open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 8 pm. On weekends, viewing is available by appointment. All exhibited artworks are available for purchase.

Anja Stemmer, a Munich-based artist, creates dynamic abstract paintings, bursting with energy in vibrant colors. From 27 April to 15 October 2023, a very special art exhibition will be on display at Schloss Lautrach. The freelance caricaturist and sculptor Horst W. Wendland will present a selection of his works here, created from the materials iron, steel and bronze. The exhibition is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the week, on weekends you should call in advance. All artworks on display are also for sale.

Horst W. Wendland has been working as a freelance artist since 1994 and has made a name for himself during this time. His works are convincing in their liveliness and body tension and are characterised by a completely unique style. The welded sculptures made of heavy materials appear filigree and transparent in their final form. The metamorphosis of metal, fire and an iron will is once again left to the ravages of time. In addition to the sculptures, 17 paintings from the artist are on display at Schloss Lautrach.

Wendland has already exhibited in many renowned institutions and galleries. These include the House of Art in Munich, the Egyptian Museum in Munich and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Ottobeuren. He has also been able to present his works abroad, for example in France, Italy and Spain. In addition, he works as a caricaturist for newspapers in German-speaking Europe and has already published six book titles.

Horst W. Wendland's works are unique and have a high recognition value. Visit the exhibition at Schloss Lautrach and be impressed by the creativity and skill of this exceptional artist.

The 4-star Hotel Schloss Lautrach will be awarded the Gold Certificate of the Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact today. The award will be presented by the Bavarian Minister of State for the Environment and Consumer Protection Thorsten Glauber and accepted by hotel manager Dominik Schmid. The award ceremony will take place at Nymphenburg Palace.

The award recognises the hotel's sustainable commitment to environmental protection and energy efficiency. As a resource-intensive business, Hotel Schloss Lautrach has long initiated an ongoing process that helps to reduce resource consumption and, in particular, energy requirements. Various measures such as the switch to LED lighting, the installation of a block heating plant, the use of modern technology for water treatment and the irrigation of the outdoor facilities by a cistern all contribute to reducing the hotel's CO₂ footprint.

"We are incredibly proud to receive this award," says hotel manager Dominik Schmid. "It is proof that our sustainability and environmental protection efforts are bearing fruit. As a major player in the region, it is important for us to do our part for climate protection while offering our guests a high-quality experience. This award motivates us to focus even more intensively on environmental protection in the future. At the moment, we are engaged in expanding the topic of e-mobility at Schloss Lautrach and look forward to setting the right impulses in the future as well.

"The 4-star Hotel Schloss Lautrach has been a popular destination in the Illerwinkel region for many years and is also known for its historic architecture, modern conference facilities and excellent service. With the award of the Bavarian Climate Pact, the hotel sets another sign in the direction of sustainability and environmental protection.

About the Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact

The Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact is a voluntary agreement between the Bavarian state and companies. The Environmental and Climate Pact provides impetus for new methods and subject areas with the aim of sustainable development in Bavaria. Only participants that have received an Environment and Climate Pact certificate at least five times in a row receive the Gold Award. Companies that receive this award have behaved in a particularly sustainable and environmentally conscious manner and have thus made a significant contribution to achieving the climate goals of the Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact.

Dominik Schmid is the new hotel manager at Schloss Lautrach. The 36-year-old, who has already worked at Schloss Lautrach as head of the reservations department and deputy hotel manager, will take over overall responsibility at the beginning of 2023.

Dominik Schmid was born with a passion for hospitality, as he grew up in a family with a strong gastronomic background. He laid the foundation of his career at Schloss Lautrach with an apprenticeship as a hotel manager. He then returned to his parents' business. After working in the Allgäu and northern Germany, he returned to Lautrach in 2013 as head of department and took over as deputy hotel manager in 2020. In his new role as director of Schloss Lautrach, he leads a team of 75 employees.

The family man, who lives with his wife and 2 children in his adopted home of Lautrach, is a passionate fan of TSV 1860 Munich and is involved as a youth coach.

Dominik Schmid would like to make the training at Schloss Lautrach more attractive again in order to thus attract specialists and managers for the future. Mr. Schmid places great value on fulfilment in the daily work of his employees, because "only enthusiastic employees are able to guarantee honest hospitality," says the hotel manager. The new hotel manager sees further focal points of his work above all in the promotion of sustainability and in establishing cooperations with regional companies to expand the conference area.
